About Me!

I am the Mom of three amazing kids! I like to say that I love all my kids – even the straight ones!! This blog is about my life’s journey having a bisexual son. If candid honesty makes you uncomfortable – this blog is probably not for you!! You should also know that I write this blog with my son’s permission – and he approves all posts here.

There is nothing wrong with your son. And you being proud as you should be. Our children are ours no matter sexuality or whatever they do with their lives. We love them regardless.

You got that right! I know kids whose parents disown them. So sad!

I’ve just come across this blog and read most of the posts in one sitting. I cried. I cried because I am bisexual too, and even not growing up in a church I’ve reached 29 years old without ever discussing my bisexuality with my father. It’s been alluded to, and I’m sure he knows (I think he knows…), but we don’t talk about it. My mum passed away years ago, so I only have the one parent to talk to. I have had boyfriends, and girlfriends, but I’ve never taken girlfriends ‘home’. There are so many little ways in which I’ve had to be careful, mind how I use pronouns when talking about current and former partners around people I don’t know (or don’t know how they will react), that sort of thing.

To see someone who represents a group that most LGBT people I know would be, at best, wary of (Christian, especially with a Baptist background!) being so open, so accepting, and so loving… It’s good for my soul. Your children are lucky people, and I wish you all the best in the world with your journey and your PFLAG activities. I only hope that more and more people start to see things as fully as you do.

Tes, thanks for taking the time to write! I am glad you found hope here. That is the precise reason I write this blog…hoping my journey will help others.
I can not imagine having to pretend all the time…it must get tiring!! I so hope one day that will all be in the past and everyone will be free to be themselves!! Hugs!!!
